Hi, i heard today that ian huntley was told that he'd serve 40 years in jail, then be up for paroll. this is the guy that murdered soham schoolgirls holly wells and jessica chapman last year. I hope he never gets paroll, he doesn't deserve to be let out, and i hope he starves to death in prison.

I hope the bit about serving 40 years is correct, and won't be changed by any future home secretary. What he did was aweful. I'm guessing that by the time he would be up for parole he would be so old that he wouldn't be capable of causing more harm, so can't see a major issue with it.

I hope he will never get out there alive, I can't believe what he did and I get shuddres just thinking about it, how you can do this to 10 year old girls is beyond me, what in the world is sexual about little kids, that's just one thing that I will never understand and even if you are strange enough to somehow find something sexual about it you must know that you cannot ever act on those feelings or desires, thaat is destroying an innocent child and I think if someone did that to my child or a chld in my family that is one of the few times I would not trust myself not to beat up or even shoot that person.

Hang the f..ker! he deliberately and wilfully killed those girls, in fact hanging is too good for the likes of him, I'd skin him alive then peg him out in the midday sun in death valley...

I like that idea for punishment. <grin> What a whimpy sentence though. Couldn't he at least get death or life inprisonment?

the death sentence isn't handed out over here, as for life, life doesn't mean life over here either, and let's bear in mind that after 40 years he only becomes eligible for parole, if he is still considered a danger to society he will not be released.

I agree IQ what is more disturbing is the likely reaction of the do gooders who will throw up their hands in horror at 40 years in jail..Though I doubt he will last that long, as child killers are viewed as scum in jail and the real hard nuts treat them accordingly.
